NHL tough guy and noted douche bag Sean Avery reportedly spent 7 hours in a California jail yesterday, after he was arrested out side his home for ‘battery of a police officer’. What a classy guy. If there was one NHL player that is straight up dumb enough to push a cop, my vote would have to be for Sean Avery.
Police showed up to Avery’s residents due to multiple noise complaints stemming from a house party inside Avery’s home. They were called once, and left. They showed up again, and that’s when things got ugly. Avery was arguing with officers when his allegedly pushed one of them to get back inside his home. More cops were called, and eventually Avery came out peacefully and was arrested without incident. Sean spent around 7 hours in jail before posting a $20,000 dollar bail. The New York Ranger and NHL have yet to comment on the situation. Also no word if Avery was taken advantage of while in the can. Chances are Bubba enjoyed his sloppy seconds.
Avery has led a very interesting and controversial NHL career. He has spent the last 2 years with the New York Rangers but has been ineffective on the score sheet, scoring just 14 goals in his last 145 games. Avery bounced around other NHL teams including LA and Dallas, and spent time in the minors. Avery is arguably the most annoying player in the NHL, and when news broke of his arrest earlier today, I’m sure many smiled and laughed. Oh Avery, what would we do without you?
